there's glitter in my bed!

sitting in bed waiting for a candle to burn...trying to resize a ring with wax. not sure if it's going to work yet. the candle is silver (too bad the wax isn't) and glittery and it sheds like crazy.

yikes, those last two are kinda creepy! haha ;)

silent all these years

part of me feels like I should take down that last post but I'm going to leave it. tired of keeping everyone's secrets after all this time. it wasn't my fault, I did nothing wrong...why should I have to keep telling these lies?

just found a letter my mom wrote before she died and she basically said that everything wrong in the family was my brother's and my faults but that he was working on his problems and I wasn't and that she was afraid to say anything about any of it cause she was afraid of me. yeah, afraid...cause i said i wasn't happy at home and looked forward to getting out and somehow that equates to me hating her and not loving her anymore. then at the end she just sort of washed her hands of the whole thing and said either i'd love her or not and there was nothing she could do about any of it. i wish i knew when she wrote it, wish i knew how far back she blamed me and gave up on me.

i feel like i should feel relieved that she gave up on me and so i don't have to worry about living up to what she wanted or making her proud, cause obviously i failed a long time ago. but i don't.

i gave up everything for her, did everything she ever needed me to do, and she still thought i didn't love her.

if i could get in the car and drive forever and never look back, leave all this shit in the rearview mirror and forget, i would. f**k responsibilities. but i'm not like that so i'll just sit here and wait for the next blow to fall.

I spent most of this week snowed in under 5+ inches of ice and snow. This is the second winter storm since Christmas...hello, this is Georgia, weather, get back with the program! Loki still loves snow and playing in it, but sledding? Not so much. Dragging me off the sled? Yup. ;) I took some pictures but - alas - too lazy to put them on the computer yet. Soon.

And now, a special YAAAY for bff buddy days! Of course I want to wander around in the rain and help you look for a job, Kim. ;D Even better if after we get to have writer brainstorms. Fun days.

Star-Crossed

Over the last few days while I've been snowed in, I've become obsessed with my sci fi WIP and started dusting off the old versions and continuing them. (Yes, I know I'm supposed to be finishing the last few five friggin chapter of my nanowrimo novel this month but the muse doesn't listen...and in any case I've pecked out close to 10,000 words since the weekend *APPLAUSE PLEASE* haha)

And so here is some random art for the series. Not covers or anything, just some random stuff. Oh, and I'm leaving out the one that I might have posted once before that was awful and from forever ago because I changed the look of one of the two main characters and so the pic was no longer right.

Without further ado:

I had another one but just as I went to save it, photoshop "unexpectedly quit." :( damn photoshop's lack of autosave! Oh, well...I'll get it redone sometime.

I haz accordion!!

So last week I bought a little 12 bass, 15 (white) key Cellini piano accordion on ebay and it came in on Thursday. It's in great shape, just a tiny bit out of tune on one key and one of the two straps is broken, but it's so much fun to play. I'm already reading up and searching ebay for a full size one to buy in the next few months. I searched all over Athens for books or sheet music but no one carries any for the accordion...guess it's not a very popular instrument. But I did find an online tutorial and I've been watching that and so far learned how to play both hands of my first song (Mary had a Little Lamb :P) just not at the same time. This is the first time I've ever really enjoyed playing music...so much fun!!

I just got back on ancestry.com today after a several month hiatus to find that they had completely overhauled the whole site and people have added tons of new info. If you have an account, go check it out! If not, there's a free version you should try...a lot of the best parts need a registration but some of the features still work. I found out lots even before I bought my membership.

It's so much fun to find out more about my family history...all the little stories and details--so cool! I love those little green leaf hints!

New year, new skin!

I changed up the look of the blog a bit, what do you think? It just seemed time to try something a little different. The all-white thing was getting kinda boring...besides (as evidenced by my ever-changing hair) I like switching it up!!
